The Bull Terrier is a breed of dog in the terrier family. There is also a miniature version of this breed which is officially known as the Miniature Bull Terrier.

They have a robust body and can be white, red, fawn, black, brindle, or a combination of these colors. Bull Terriers are independent and stubborn, requiring experienced owners. They have an even temperament, are good with people, and can be great family members when socialized early. Health issues include deafness and skin allergies. The breed was developed in the 19th century from the "bull and terrier" breeds for vermin control and animal-based blood sports. James Hinks refined the breed for a cleaner appearance by breeding with "English White Terriers" and other breeds. Colored Bull Terriers were later introduced due to medical issues associated with all-white breeding.
